Hi, I'm Krystal!

I love cooking, crafting, baking, organizing, home decor & lots more.  As you can see, I have a problem narrowing my interests down, so I decided to start a blog about all of these things.  Welcome to my little Home Made Austin world.


Growing up in a very small, very German, very Catholic community in west Texas, I learned that mashed potatoes go with every meal, there is a right order to clean a bathroom & dessert should be a daily occurrence.  My mother was an insanely good cook who knew her way around baked goods & traditional southern dishes.  My Nana is the crafter: quilting, crocheting & creating family calendars each Christmas.  She also always has a fresh coconut pie waiting for me when I visit.  She's awesome.  So, it's clear I inherited most of these interests naturally.  

Living in Austin for almost 7 years now, I love the ever-expanding variety of things to do, people to meet & restaurants to try.  I've just bought a house in deep, deep south Austin with my less recent, but still new husband Andrew.
