I love decorating with wreaths for any holiday, but especially Christmas! They just make things happier & you can use them in so many ways that just the front door.
I made this wreath for a silver mirror we have hanging in our upstairs hallway. I'm trying to spread bits of cheer throughout the entire house & this sweet wreath, along with the reflection it creates down the hall has really jazzed up an otherwise dull space. And the red bow, adds a bright pop of color!
Here's what you need to make your own: a vine wreath, paint (the color I chose is called light gold), a paintbrush, silver ribbon & a package of these fun modern metallic ornaments. There are two in a package (for just a buck!) but you only need one. The other is perfect for the tree or another project!
Start by brushing on a little paint on the wreath & then immediately wiping it off. I wanted there to be a touch of metal & shine, but for the natural wood to still show through. Let it dry for a few minutes before continuing on with the rest of the project.
Take one ornament, cut off the holder & weave through some silver ribbon. If you're going to be hanging it on a mirror, be sure to leave enough ribbon on the top so you can secure it on the back side of the mirror. Secure ribbon to wreath. You can tie a pretty bow, or cut a few trimmed pieces.
To secure the wreath to the mirror, I used a small suction cup hook attached to the mirror & also fixed the ribbon to the back of the mirror. I attached the ribbon to the back with several pieces of painter's tape, as to not harm the backing.
